Companions creates a responsive digital garden where hospitalized viewers become cultivators through their presence. Five medicinal plants—poppy, marigold, St. John's wort, digitalis, cornflower—bloom and wilt in response to ward conditions. Patient movement, ambient sound, and natural light become acts of gardening, transforming medical isolation into ecological participation.
