Minyoung Kim explores the body as a political-economic field in techno-capitalism through data, image, and simulation. Her multimedia practice reveals how bodies function simultaneously as interfaces for algorithmic control and sites of resistance, reframing human-machine relationships as territories of adaptive co-evolution.
Notable projects include "Holy Motors Series" and "Alain," which reinterpret surveillance technology mechanisms as creative choreographic elements, while "Giant Whisper" utilizes real-time shipping data to create an augmented acoustic environment that audiences can directly experience.
Through collaborations with Hyundai ZER01NE, Chelsea Westminster Hospital, and Korea National Contemporary Dance Company, she engages with experts across robotics, AI, and dance, expanding the boundaries between technology, art, and science. Since 2023, she has been teaching XR content development and design at university level.
김민영은 데이터, 이미지, 시뮬레이션을 통해 기술자본주의 환경에서 신체를 정치경제적 장으로 탐구한다. 그의 멀티미디어 작업은 신체가 알고리즘적 통제의 인터페이스이자 동시에 저항의 장소로 기능하는 방식을 드러내며, 인간-기계 관계를 적응적 공진화의 영역으로 재구성한다.
주요 프로젝트 "홀리모터스 시리즈"와 "알랭"에서 감시 기술을 안무적 구조로 변형시키고, "자이언트 위스퍼"를 통해 실시간 선박 데이터를 활용해 관객이 직접 체험하는 증강된 청각적 환경을 구현했다.
현대 ZER01NE, 첼시 웨스트민스터 병원, 국립현대무용단과의 협업을 통해 로봇공학, AI, 무용 분야의 전문가들과 교류하며 기술과 예술, 과학의 경계를 확장한다. 2023년부터 대학에서 XR 콘텐츠 개발과 디자인을 가르치고 있다.
